EVENT FORMAT – TOURNAMENTS, MEALS AND CEREMONIES

We receive the participants on Thursday between 3pm and 6pm with 6 padel courts available for people who want to train with an opening ceremony at 6:30pm.

On Friday the tournament starts at 9:30 am with lunch in the restaurant in front of the club. A local activity is planned around 6:00 p.m. with Iberian ham tasting and the matches end at 8:00 p.m. with dinner open.

Saturday the tournament continues from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with lunch and a flamenco show at 6:00 p.m.: dinner is open so that the players can go to the historic center to a place of their choice. Afterwards, a party is planned in an exclusive place in the city for everyone…

Sunday the tournament closes with the finals starting at 10 am and around 1:30 pm there is lunch with the closing and award ceremony.

 

DURING THE TOURNAMENT AND ARBITRATION

For the tournament we will have an accredited doctor always present – specialized in sports and a well-known local figure – as well as an osteopath who will work in a tent between the padel courts. Regarding the tournament itself, we will have a professional team of several referees with a large screen to indicate the results.
Each player will have a 1.5l bottle of water for each match and will always play with new balls and there will be fruit (bananas and apples) available all the time. There will also be unlimited access to the club’s outdoor Olympic pool next to the restaurant throughout the event.

 

RULES OF THE GAME

The format will be best of 3 sets with a super tie-break in lieu of a third set and with a golden point in each game. A minimum of four matches is guaranteed for men with groups of four pairs: then 3 groups will be created according to these first results in order to have relatively homogeneous matches.

Nota bene: the final format will be decided according to the number of players and a minimum of three matches is guaranteed for women. The idea is to have two matches per day, with one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

 

ACCOMMODATION & EXTRA SPORTS ACTIVITIES

In relation to accommodation, the organization can suggest different alternatives for 3 nights with breakfast included through the Soho hotel chain – between 3 and 4 stars – within its portfolio of hotels in Malaga. To make reservations for a hotel of the Soho chain, a discount code will be granted on the cheapest rates in force in each hotel at the time of reservation through different online platforms. If there is an interest to play on Thursday afternoon in the club, the organization will be happy to book courts.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION AND REGISTRATION

This competition is open to clubs from all over the planet and to groups of friends – with the only condition that there be a minimum of 2 couples per registration: it does not matter if each couple is in different age or gender groups.

PACK includes – welcome reception, 3 lunches, tournament with referees, doctor and kinesiologist, welcome pack, shows, Saturday party, closing ceremony, unlimited access to the Olympic pool – for 350 euros per person.
